California weekend low tides
The best daylight low tides on Saturdays and Sundays at every Great Tides place, in one place — for planning a weekend trip without opening five place pages. A daylight low tide falls between sunrise and sunset; a low of 1.5 ft (0.46 m) or lower is a good tidepooling window, and at or below 0.0 ft it is an excellent one. Rankings cover October 19, 2026 to January 16, 2027.
Weekend dates are the practical constraint for most visits: the season's very lowest daylight tides often fall on weekdays. The tables below show, for each of the next four weekends, the lowest daylight low tide at each place on the Saturday and on the Sunday, and then each place's single best weekend daylight low in the whole 90-day window. Full weekend rankings (ten per place) are on each place page. New to tidepooling? Read what tidepooling is and how to do it well first.

Questions
What counts as a weekend daylight low tide?
A predicted low tide on a Saturday or Sunday whose time falls between that day's sunrise and sunset at that place. The sunrise and sunset times are calculated for each place's coordinates, the same definition used in the daylight rankings on every place page.
Why plan around daylight lows?
The intertidal zone is only exposed while the tide is out, and it is only practical to explore it in daylight. The lowest low tide of a week often falls after dark; the weekend daylight tables above are the shortlist of lows that are both low and usable on a day off.
Are these the actual water levels I will see?
No. These are astronomical predictions from NOAA CO-OPS. Wind, storms and air pressure push real water levels above or below the prediction, sometimes by a foot or more. Check the local forecast and conditions before you go, and do not use these predictions for navigation.
